The Socialist Party (Sósíalistaflokkurinn) is a grassroots organization, and its strength rests on the willingness of its members to participate. Members are therefore encouraged to run for a position on one of the party's boards: the Election Committee (Kosningastjórn), the Policy Board (Málefnastjórn), the Executive Board (Framkvæmdastjórn), the Action Committee (Baráttustjórn), or the Membership Board (Félagastjórn). The same applies to the role of the party's political leader. Information about the boards can be found in the party's Organization, see here:Organization
On the party's website, members who wish to run for a board position can introduce themselves with a photo and a short text. It must be stated which board people are running for. According to the party's Organization, each member is only permitted to sit on one elected board. Please send this introduction to: xj@xj.is. Members can refer to these introductions when elections to the boards are held at the Socialist Congress (Sósíalistaþing). The names of those who run will be on the ballots.
