Resolution against detention camps and a closed departure center

The Socialist Party of Iceland (Sósíalistaflokkur Íslands) and ROÐI Young Socialists condemn the proposed "departure center" and call for humane treatment of asylum seekers and other foreigners. The draft bill describes nothing less than detention camps and clearly violates the Convention on the Rights of the Child and general human rights. We call for a complete halt to this bill and reject all plans for closed facilities.

We call for solidarity with other human rights groups, let's work together and stop human rights violations.
