Resolution of the Socialist Congress (Sósíalistaþing) on labor issues: Let's make the labor movement a tool for the public's struggle!

The Socialist Congress 2018 encourages all wage earners to participate in the reconstruction of the labor movement and make it once again a tool for the public's struggle for a just society.

It was due to the struggle of the labor movement that a welfare system was built up in the last century and aimed at a society of increased equality. It is likewise due to the deterioration of the labor movement in recent decadesthat the social housing system has been severely damaged, fees increased in the healthcare and education systems, and in other ways undermined the protection and security of the public.
