No more greed at the expense of the lowest-income earners

Speech by Þuríður Harða Sigurðardóttir at the Hunger March in Austurvöllur:

Dear people and comrades in the struggle! People live in miserable conditions in Iceland, which is said to be a land of prosperity and opportunity. The nation has been lied to, poor people have been lied to - Who still have to endure their hunger march with eternal hope in their hearts. Poor people, who are still made to wait for justice. Iceland is not a land of opportunity and prosperity for all. Disabled people do not get opportunities and certainly do not live in prosperity – they are made to live in misery!
