Lunchtime Protest No. 1: Return the money

The first lunchtime protest is announced at the Tryggingastofnun building at 12:10 on Friday, February 15th.

Tryggingastofnun ríkisins cut the pensions of disabled people due to residence outside Iceland for more than ten years, despite indications that it was illegal. The Althingi Ombudsman agreed with the complaints of disabled people, and finally the Ministry of Welfare ruled that the cut was illegal and that Tryggingastofnun should pay the people full pensions.

But nothing has happened. Despite the fact that the people who had to endure the cut are among the poorest people in the country and can least afford to lend money to the state treasury, none of the disabled people have received what was taken from them, not a single króna.
