September 18, 2017What do socialists want to do?
A membership meeting of the Socialist Party of Iceland regarding the announced parliamentary elections will be next Tuesday, September 19, at six in the afternoon at Rúgbrauðsgerðin at Borgartún 6. The house opens at five. Coffee and tea available.
At the party's founding meeting on May 1st, an interim board was tasked with commencing work on shaping the party's more detailed policy, developing its internal operations, and preparing the Socialist Congress (Sósíalistaþing) at the end of October. At that time, elections were not expected in the autumn. Now party members need to come together and state what they want to do regarding the elections and what they want the party to do.
All party members are encouraged to attend and contribute to the discussion about the status of socialism in these elections and participate in the decision about the party's status.
