August 15, 2020Conversation about judicial affairs 2
Last weekend, the Policy Board of the Socialist Party of Iceland invited 3 individuals to discuss their views and experiences of Icelandic judicial affairs.
This was done because a group of randomly selected socialists is now beginning work on drafting the party's policy on judicial affairs.
Bjarki Magnússon spoke on behalf of Afstaða, an association of prisoners and other enthusiasts for improved prison affairs and rehabilitation.
He talks about, among other things, the possibilities for prisoners' rehabilitation and/or the lack thereof.
Afstaða, for example, has emphasized examining what has been done in Norway, as they have significantly changed their rehabilitation system, and other countries are now looking there for experience.
