Socialist Coffee: Who is responsible for the housing crisis?

Socialist Coffee February 13: Who is responsible for the housing crisis in Reykjavík; the homelessness of thousands, many households in unapproved housing, constantly rising rent prices, and an oversupply of luxury apartments for people who are not in any trouble, but an absolute lack of housing for those who are in trouble?

Sanna Magdalena Mörtudóttir, socialist city councilor, presents the socialists' proposals for solving the housing crisis and calls for more proposals, actions, and other measures that can make the city authorities wake up.

Magga Stína, chairperson of the Tenants' Association, discusses the situation of tenants, Jón Rúnar Sveinsson talks about the situation of people living in industrial housing and unapproved residential housing, and Pálína Sjöfn Þórarinsdóttir, chairperson of the Tenants' Association at Félagsbústaðir, talks about the association.

All socialists, tenants, homeless people, and others stuck in the consequences of the housing crisis, and those interested in justice and equality, are encouraged to attend, listen to Sanna, and discuss the housing problem and its solutions with her.

The discussion starts at 8 PM at Dósaverksmiðjan, Borgartún 1. The doors open at 7:30 PM. Coffee, tea, politics, and good company.
