Socialists at the people's meeting: Class division in Iceland

The Socialist Party of Iceland invites Guðmundur Ævar Oddsson, sociologist and lecturer at the University of Akureyri, to speak at the People's Meeting. Guðmundur Ævar will discuss class division in his lecture. The lecture will take place in the Nanna hall in Menningarhúsið Hof in Akureyri on Saturday morning at 10:30 AM.

The lectures will explain the concept of class and class division based on the theories of Karl Marx, Max Weber, and Pierre Bourdieu. Also, Icelanders' ideas about class differences and their own class status will be discussed. After Guðmundur Ævar's presentation, a discussion will be offered. The program will conclude before 11:30 AM. Admission is free and open to all! The moderator is Laufey Ólafsdóttir, a member of the interim board (bráðabirgðastjórn) of the Socialist Party of Iceland.
