The Socialist Congress (Sósíalistaþing) 2018; policy, organization, boards and upcoming struggles

The Socialist Congress took place yesterday, Saturday, January 20, 2018, in Rúgbrauðsgeðinn Borgartún 6. The Socialist Congress is the general meeting of the Socialist Party of Iceland.

This Socialist Congress marks the conclusion of the party's establishment, as its establishment was initiated last May 1st, almost nine months ago. At the Congress, new laws and a new organizational structure were approved.

At the Congress, members discussed the Socialist Party's potential candidacy for municipal elections, the party's mission, and the importance of socialist priorities being upheld at the municipal level. It was decided to continue that discussion.
