Socialist Labour Council begins operations


At a meeting of the Socialist Party of Iceland, held on January 19, 2019, it was decided to establish the party's Labour Council. At the meeting, members were asked to volunteer for the task, and the following resolution was adopted:

SOCIALIST LABOUR COUNCIL

The following individuals have volunteered to build up a Labour Council within the Socialist Party. The general meeting entrusts it with fostering discussion on labour issues within the party and attracting members and others to that discussion, and to propose to the next Socialist Congress how labour discussion and work should be conducted within the party. Meetings of this preparatory group will be held at Borgartún 1, 2nd floor, on Monday evenings at 8 PM. All members of the Socialist Party are encouraged to attend the meetings of the Labour Council and participate in its development.
