Statement from the Socialist Party of Iceland's city council group

This morning, the Socialist Party's city council group received an account from a woman who states that Daníel Örn Arnarsson, the party's substitute city councilor, subjected her to serious sexual violence. In light of the woman's account, the Socialist Party's city council group requested that Daníel resign as substitute city councilor. Daníel agreed to this and has sent out a notification of his resignation. Anna Wojtynska, who has served as substitute city councilor during Daníel's sick leave, has thereby become the Socialist Party's first substitute city councilor.
